Project Overview
AQL was engaged to complete active water stopping to a buried tank in Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant, Dublin. A large hole had developed on the side of the tank causing a massive amount of water loss. This repair would allow for the tank to be once again made watertight and restore structural integrity for many years to come.

Scope of works
AQL carried out waterproofing and active water stopping methods, including: Plugging hole- A rapid setting, waterproof, cementitious mortar solution was installed to fill the large hole. This solution goes hard within minutes and was the ideal solution to complete this repair, while causing minimal disruption to the plant. Due to this products extreme strength, this product will stand up to the test of time. Crack Injection- The cold joint between the new repair and the host concrete was then resin crack injected to ensure this joint could not allow water to exit the tank. Gasket Plate- A stainless steel plate with a rubber gasket to create a seal was then mechanically fixed over the repaired area as an extra precaution.
